How do I know when my sent messages have been read?

When you click the Send button, the window will change to a "Message Sent" confirmation screen.  As soon as you send the message, it's in the recipient's mailbox, his New Message count is updated and a message notification is sent to his external mailbox if he has that feature enabled.  That's all you get to know.

We don't provide information about when or if a message has been opened.  We do that to prevent you from embarrassing yourself with the follow-up message "Why haven't you responded to the message I sent you that I know you've read?"  If there is interest in your message, he'll reply in his own time.  If there's not, you either won't hear from him or you'll receive a message declining.
